aside from being a kick butt photographer, i do have a day job.  i've had it for 7 long years.  it used to be bayer diagnostics and it is now siemens healthcare.  everyone always asks me what i do.  i tell them:  "i make dna." 

let me give you a more detailed look into the world of bDNA...

we synthesize, purify and analyze various synthetic single strands of DNA (a.k.a RNA)...DNA is double stranded...but....let's not get sidetracked here.  the DNA goes into various pools (HIV, HBV, HCV), is ligated into amplifiers, pre-amplifiers or is processed into label probes. 

the final product is a kit.  a diagnostic kit, testing the viral load of patients in doctor's offices and clinics.

it's really not.  it's more like a roller coaster.  :)  with all the ups and downs and quick turns and fast pace...  the last handful of summers have been filled with concerts, events, weddings, making DNA (work), editing photos and bbqs.  all good things, but in new england, the summertime is short.  here and gone before you know it.  and i always miss going to the beach!  i finally had a free weekend and made the best of it.  horseneck beach down in westport, ma.  perfect day!  not a cloud in the sky!  not too crowded!  and...no seaweed!!  woo hoo!  my cousin beth rounded up the troops.  i was the first to hit the sand.  KMD

jennifer always sends me links to other cool photographers or crafty artsy sites that people are talking about on the forums she visits.  i might as well share them with the world (a.k.a. the one person that reads this blog, my father.  hello father.)  hehehe. 

seriously though.  there are some creative people out there.  i always dig around for ideas on the interweb.  check out this site about funky paper designs.  sick right?
