goodbye NFL lockout!

patriots training camp. a tradition since 1997. i used to bring my little kodak advantix camera down to bryant college with my brother and grab shots of terry glenn, lawyer milloy and...pete caroll. then i got my first digital camera. a 5mp point and shoot. larry izzo, ty law, troy brown...the photos came out awful. i graduated to a dSLR and after 14 years (!?!?!) of photography and training camp sessions, i think i've got it down. 14 years? that's kind of insane when you think about it. i'm not that old. or am i? what can i say. i'm a sucker for the game of football americano. ;)

anywho, last year was the only year i didn't make it to at least one practice. well enough about me, check out the slideshow below! photos are from 7/31 and 8/13. p.s. you look mad, chad.

back in may, i hooked up with some of the talented rue la la family to "test" with one of our models, carolan. there was no real concept, other than a focus on beauty. lindsay nordberg put together a ton of looks for the day, while rachael berkowitz made carolan's beauty stand out even more with hair and make-up. erika weatherbee was kind enough to come in and film some behind the scenes footage, as well (where i act like an idiot): http://vimeo.com/24806480

i get excited about every band i have the opportunity to photograph, but there are a few shows that leave me completely starstruck. one was janet jackson, another was jay-z w/ trey songz, and then there was this past saturday night. i covered the backstreet boys & new kids on the block show (NKOTBSB) at the td garden and had to remain calm throughout, in order to prevent spontaneous combustion. if you were never a 14 year old girl, you wouldn't understand. ;) the show was one word - AMAZING. dare i say....EPIC? i know. i know...

christina elfar of threeSIXnine THE HAIR STUDIO is a genius. i asked her to join me in the studio last month for some beauty shots, along with 5 fabulous models. she transformed these lovely ladies with five unique looks. i can't say enough good things about her talent. christina, you are a master with hair and make-up. THANK YOU!

here is a 4 minute slideshow from last tuesday night at the td garden. trey songz on the omg tour. it was nothing but good times with the trey songz experience [TSE], on their stop in boston. every single person on the tour staff and the garden staff was wonderful. the write-up can be found on the examiner website: here. <---- let's not judge sentence structure and spelling. let's just look at the pretty pictures. lol.

ralph 'buttaz' kearns on the keyboard, nate jones on bass, and ricky 'strings' ramos on lead guitar and antwan 'amadeus' thompson on drums. you guys rock! yuuup!

i know that no one cares, but it has been a month since my last post. so here's a baby recap of the whirlwind which was the last 30 days:

i left my job at siemens healthcare after 8ish years.
i got a new at rue la la as a photographer. pow!
i photographed a newborn baby. cute!
i photographed a wedding in stoneham/peabody.
i covered a bridal shower in rhode island.
i photographed a wedding in medford/cambridge.
i photographed a wedding in peabody/nahant.
i shot erykah badu and janelle monae at the orpheum.
i shot the backstreet boys at the pavilion.
i shot earth, wind and fire at the pavilion.
i shot the eagles, dixie chicks and keith urban at gillette.
i shot jordin sparks at the house of blues.
i photographed an engagement session in marblehead.
i shot war at the hatch shell for oldies 103.3.

i have been chipping away at the well over 10,000 images. i need help or a clone of myself.

fun, but too much. back to the grind. KMD

i'm kidding. it's just the td garden.

check out the examiner.com review of pearl jam from last night at the td garden.

big thank you to liz hennigan, tom giusti and will dailey for supplying the expert pearl jam opinion of the show. it really wasn't a show about fancy lights and stage tricks - it was a dude in flannel rocking the roof off that place. a crazy sight to see, for real. and they played for 3 hours! all you 45 min set bands, take notice! they do have a million cds to choose from. the 90's were alive last night.

i swear i saw a troll doll. wait - that was my early 90's.

a note about photography...they split the pit with two lines of tape, leaving the center clear of even security. us photographers had to pick a side and stay there. it was cramped. shoutouts to mary. i couldn't figure out why this weird rule was in place. i'm still not 100% sure, but i'm guessing the eddie vedder spit might have something to do with it. dude can hawk.

the rest of the world is watching the celtics right now. i lack cable in my life. so i keep watching the live updates on celtics.com. heck yeah! final score: 95-92. let's do this!

oh snap! a boudoir shoot with a lovely bride-to-be! the day of the shoot, we laughed a whole bunch, because it's not everyday you get in your underware and take photos. and she had these garter things that had to be attached and i had to do it. awkward and hilarious! shoes by jessica simpson. hair and make-up by christina elfar of bella nova salon in foxboro. you only get to see one photo from the shoot. so there. enjoy!
